How this MPF calculator and comparison works
This free MPF calculator and comparison tool ranks every Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund constituent fund published by the MPFA — around 448 funds as of 31 May 2026. Use it as an MPF calculator to project how HK$100,000 would have grown in each fund, and as a comparison tool to put the funds you already hold side by side with the funds you are considering — then sort them on the measures that actually decide your retirement balance: net returns, fund expense ratio and risk.
Why multi-tier sorting matters
A single-column league table hides trade-offs. A fund can top the 1-year table after one strong quarter, or look cheap on fees while carrying a risk class you would not accept. Multi-tier sorting lets you rank on 5-year annualised return first, then break ties on fund expense ratio, then on MPFA risk class — so the fund at the top of your list is the one that fits all of your criteria at once, not just the one that won a single metric.
What we compare
- 1-year and 5-year annualised returns, net of fund-level charges, plus each calendar year from 2021 onwards.
- Fund expense ratio (FER) — the yearly cost drag, the one input you can control.
- MPFA risk class 1–7 and a return-per-unit-of-risk ratio, so higher returns are judged against the volatility taken to earn them.
- Provider and trustee filters, so you can compare only the schemes you can realistically transfer to.
Where the data comes from
Every figure is taken from the MPFA Fund Performance Platform snapshot dated 31 May 2026. You can verify any number on the MPFA website. Derived measures — annualised returns and return-per-risk — are calculated from those published figures, and each result cell shows its source on hover. This is information only, not financial advice.
